Founded in 2016, Breaking the Chains Church is a ministry of the Greater Milwaukee Synod-ELCA, with congregations planted in Felmers Chaney Correctional Center and Kenosha Correctional Center.
Breaking the Chains is a collaboration between the ELCA, the Wisconsin DOC and Prison Congregations of America. Bible study and a Eucharist worship take place weekly.
Our mission is to not only prepare people who are incarcerated for their release, but to provide them with tools and supports, empowering them to thrive upon their return to society.
